Jewel City Digital Kiosk - Legion of Honor

01 — Project details

San Francisco hosted a World's Fair in 1915 but the deYoung's centennial exhibition could only scratch the surface.

A digital kiosk allowed visitors to see more, including objects too fragile to ever be exhibited in public.

02 — Creative process

We started with the idea that visitors to San Francisco today would struggle to understand the scope of the World's Fair in 1915, even though traces of it—including the current Palace of Fine Arts—were everywhere.

We worked with archival materials to create a series of stories, supported by images and graphics, that let visitors visualize how the fair would appear in San Francisco today, as well as highlighting additional art and objects that were outside the strict scope of the exhibition.
